Lisa Edelstein is an American actress, best known for her work on House, a Fox medical series, House. Growing up in Wayne in conservative Jewish traditions, she moved to New York City at the age of 18 and began studying acting at the Tisch school of arts. The school was heavily involved in the club scene in New York City, and was able to get noticed by the media. While doing so she became more conscious of AIDS its devastating consequences. She eventually used her experience and her fame in order to create and write the musical called Positive Me which she starred. Soon after she was employed by MTV to host Awake on the Wild Side. When it ended up going off the show, she started appearing in films and television production, initially in short roles and gradually established herself as an actor.
